Marti grew up with the Superstition Mountains, of the famed Lost Dutchman Gold Mine, in view down the street. She dweebily spent hours rollerblading the same street with high hopes that discovery and subsequent training as an Olympic speed skater would materialize. In spite of other illusions of grandeur to be a marine biologist, a book mobile lady, and a Southern Pacific train engineer, her love for art and books finally committed her to become an illustrator her senior year of high school.
She went on to earn a BFA in Illustration from Brigham Young University and has been a freelance illustrator and designer since 2004.
